Offering descriptions on your site allows you to meet these underserved art lovers wherever they are. Transcripts can be provided for the deaf and hard of hearing.
Unlike audio guides, my descriptions are not location dependent but are written to provide a consistent experience, no matter where your audience listens.
Descriptions can also be useful when art lovers aren’t able to visit in person. The scripts, or their recordings, can be used in virtual tours and online activities that can be enjoyed at home. And they can save your staff time when drafting social media posts or other communications.
My role
After you provide me a list of works, I’ll spend time looking closely, either in person or at high-quality digital images, and write clear, detailed descriptions. In-person visits are limited to institutions in the Washington DC area. Information from your existing wall texts, publications and web content can be added to provide context and history. After your editorial review, I’ll incorporate any corrections or changes and the final product will be a voiceover-ready script.
