Helping museums reach new audiences
Long Look Productions is committed to leveraging the power of podcasting and verbal description to help museums reach new, long-distance, and underserved audiences.
A LONG LOOK PODCAST
Since 2017, A Long Look has been a destination for art lovers and the art shy — people interested in art but who feel overwhelmed by museums. As host and producer, I introduce listeners to the experience of spending minutes instead of seconds looking at art. Each episode features a vivid description of one work in a museum’s collection, along with the questions and discoveries that come up. Then I provide the history, mystery or controversy about the work or the artist!
VERBAL DESCRIPTIONS
As a result of the podcast, the National Gallery of Art hired me to write verbal descriptions for their site.
I can provide the same service to your museum. Clear, in-depth descriptions of works in your permanent collection and special exhibitions can help visually impaired audiences become engaged and supportive.
In addition, the descriptions can be a resource for your staff to incorporate into online experiences and communication.
Samples can be provided upon request.
